   Visitor Information Sheet

Please read this before you start your journey and, if in doubt, please ask now.

  • No Pets or Firearms but children are welcome. You are in charge of your own children. 4 wheel driving can be dangerous. Please follow the instructions and keep children well clear of cars in recovery.
  • Always keep an eye on the car behind. Do not drive on unless you can see they are behind you. Should CB’s fail at least we all still have eye contact with the next vehicle.
  • We use CB UHF Channel 12 for all communication. Where there is too much interference the trip leader will instruct everyone to switch to the alternate channel. In such cases, turn to Channel 21.
  • If you are not confident or do not wish to attempt any part of an event, it is your responsibility to inform the Trip Leader
  • In the event of an accident or becoming stuck, do not panic. Advise the trip leader who will nominate a suitable recovery team. If not in the recovery team, keep well back from the stuck vehicle.
  • Obey all speed & other laws. No littering. We recommend you bring a bag to take any rubbish home with you.
  • Do not travel too close behind the person in front especially in soft sand.
  • Day Trips: Trips are generally self-sufficient. On most trips we will stop briefly for morning tea and sometimes an afternoon tea stop as well. These are generally fairly short (10-15 minutes). We also stop for lunch. We encourage you to being along whatever supplies you need to eat at these stops as we rarely stop near shops. Sandwiches or Thermos type food is the most popular. If you are planning to cook something, remember open flames are sometimes banned.
  • We do not encourage people to leave the group during the trip. However if you must, report to the trip leader or “tail end Charlie” first.
